About Day Zero Guides

Day Zero Guides publishes first-look coverage of newly launched software, browser extensions, WordPress plugins, no-code/AI tools, and fintech apps — plus honest buying guides for a small number of established products we have a genuine, verified affiliate relationship with. The goal is to be useful to someone deciding whether a specific new tool is worth their time, with real pricing and a real comparison against alternatives, rather than generic marketing copy.

How a guide actually gets made

We’re upfront that this is not a newsroom of staff writers. Day Zero Guides is run by one person, using an AI-assisted research and writing pipeline, with human oversight rather than a human writing or fact-checking every guide line by line before it publishes. Concretely, for each product:

• An automated step fetches the product’s own public site and checks basic signals — is there a working demo, is a founder or team identifiable, does the domain have any track record, does the site make suspicious or unverifiable claims. Products that fail this check are not covered.
• An AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) writes the guide from that research — pricing, use cases, and a comparison against named real alternatives — and a real screenshot of the product’s own site is captured and shown, not a stock image or mockup.
• We do not claim hands-on testing of every feature in every guide. For a genuinely new, just-launched product, that’s usually not possible on day one — which is the trade-off inherent to covering things this early. Where pricing or a feature couldn’t be confirmed, the guide says so rather than guessing.

What we do to keep it honest

• Coverage decisions and what a guide says are not influenced by whether a product has an affiliate program — see our affiliate disclosure for the full detail on how that works.
• We never fabricate a pricing figure, feature, or affiliate relationship. If something can’t be confirmed, the guide says it’s unconfirmed rather than inventing a number.
• Guides are periodically rechecked against the product’s current site, and updated or held back from publishing if something material has changed since it was written.

Limitations, honestly

Because the site covers a high volume of small, brand-new launches, many of the products covered have little or no track record yet — that’s inherent to “day zero” coverage, not a claim that every product covered is proven or widely adopted. We’d rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.

How we make money

Some guides include affiliate links; the site also runs display advertising. Neither is used to bias coverage. Full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
